Michael the Archangel

It is taken from an ancient icon, kept in the Tret’jakov Gallery in Moscow, whose author is Andrej Rubley, Russian painter, considered the greatest painter of icons. The name Michael means “who is like God”. The Archangel is commonly painted as winged, in armor, with a sword or a spear in his hands.
